Forest Stream in the studio
October 4, 2007
Doom metal fans should keep watch for new music coming from Russian metalheads Forest Stream. They broke through barriers with their six track 1999 demo release of Snowfall. Last Season Purity, another demo, followed in 2000. In 2003 the band had their first full length release titled Tears of Mortal Solitude. The nine track album had about 70 minutes worth of decent atmospheric sounding death metal, which I respected more after listening through a few times. The symphonic elements of their music is quite fitting. Forest Stream is working on their second full release The Crown of Winter, to be released on Candlelight Records.

Dawn of Tears – download album for free
September 26, 2007
More free music for metal heads. There’s a band from Spain called “Dawn of Tears” that is offering a free download of their album “Descent”. All you have to do is visit their website for the link. I don’t have too much info on the band yet, but I gave a listen to the album and I think it sounds awesome. Their full bodied sound has a good melodic edge to it. Some might find their music similar to Children of Bodom or maybe even Cradle of Filth. I’m not going to make a complete comparison, so listen for yourself. Definitely worth the download if you like this sort of music.
