Fans of Avenged Sevenfold have the opportunity to attend a free concert by the band on Saturday October 20th, at the Key Club in Hollywood.  The event will take place at 4:00 pm, an odd time, but the band is filming the show for an October 30th broadcast on “The List” at Myspace.  There are no tickets, only a limited amount of fans will be let in.  Oh, and to attend you must be wearing a Halloween costume.  This all coincides with the October 30th release of their new self titled album.

Forest Stream - Band PhotoDoom metal fans should keep watch for new music coming from Russian metalheads Forest Stream. They broke through barriers with their six track 1999 demo release of Snowfall. Last Season Purity, another demo, followed in 2000. In 2003 the band had their first full length release titled Tears of Mortal Solitude. The nine track album had about 70 minutes worth of decent atmospheric sounding death metal, which I respected more after listening through a few times. The symphonic elements of their music is quite fitting. Forest Stream is working on their second full release The Crown of Winter, to be released on Candlelight Records.

Eyefear - Band PhotoIf you like Iron Maiden, I implore you to check out Australian rockers Eyefear.  I think you’ll be pleased with the music this band puts out.  The vocals of Danny Cecati immediately remind me of Bruce Dickinson’s aggressive melodic tone.  Keep in mind I am a bit biased here due to the fact that Iron Maiden has always been one of my favorite bands.  But Eyefear has their own approach to the progressive metal genre.  Since forming in 1994, the band has had quite a few changes in their band member lineup, but have maintained a strong sound through it all.  Their effort A World of Full Grey is awesome, released worldwide on the Dockyard 1 label earlier this year.  Go to their myspace page and listen to tracks from their latest..
