On a complete non music related subject, I find it interesting how popular Transfomers toys have become once again.  Long before the blockbuster movie that just came out, I can remember causing chaos after whippin’ out my Optimus Prime Transformer.  Those were the days..

Teresa Brewer, 1931-2007

October 18, 2007

Teresa Brewer, one of the greatest American pop and jazz singers of the 1950’s has died on October 17th 2007, at the age of 76. Brewer released a large amount of songs during her time of fame, with almost 40 that topped the charts. Some of her best known tracks include “Dancin’ with Someone,” “Till I Waltz Again with You,” and of course “I Love Mickey,” a song about the great New York Yankees center fielder Mickey Mantle. Over the years she performed with jazz greats such as Duke Ellington, Wynton Marsalis, Dizzy Gillespie, Mel Torme, and Tony Bennett. She will be greatly missed in the world of jazz music.

Fans of Avenged Sevenfold have the opportunity to attend a free concert by the band on Saturday October 20th, at the Key Club in Hollywood.  The event will take place at 4:00 pm, an odd time, but the band is filming the show for an October 30th broadcast on “The List” at Myspace.  There are no tickets, only a limited amount of fans will be let in.  Oh, and to attend you must be wearing a Halloween costume.  This all coincides with the October 30th release of their new self titled album.
